An Autumn Day

On such a day each road is planned
To lead to some enchanted land;
Each turning meets expectancy.
The signs I read on every hand.
I know by autumn's wizardry
On such a day the world can be
Only a great glad dream for me--
Only a great glad dream for me!
Eleanor Myers Jewett, An Autumn Day

Autumn always calls for warm apple cider and fresh cinnamon sugar doughnuts.  Doesn't that sound yummy?  We returned to Jenny's Cider Mill and Farm Market for our Fall Fest this year.  Our celebration begins by enjoying the autumn morning outdoors followed by a pot luck lunch at home and ends with pumpkin carving.

Pumpkin Carving

I've learned there are three things you don't discuss with people: religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin.

Thanks to our dearest friends and family, our Fall Fest has become an anticipated yearly event since we arrived on Linwood.  Although we host this celebration, it really belongs to everyone. It's a time we gather all day to enjoy the beautiful colors of autumn, feast on delicious fall dishes, and make scary jack-o'-lanterns to be enjoyed for Halloween.  Featured here are: Betty's delicious rustic apple pastry, cutie pie Bruno, Doris, Delvecchio, Whitteaker, and Sarsozo families, Shelley, Kim, Kara, and Derek.  The rest of the Cifaldi crew where indoors enjoying the football game.   Thank you all for making this celebration joyful!  Let's hope for beautiful weather again next year.

Full House

Welcome to Linwood daycare.  We had a full house this weekend.  Marcella, Jack, & Sophie slept over.  Lucia, baby Bruno, and parents Lou and Betty joined us too for an afternoon walk at the park and dinner at home.  It's so wonderful to see how well these children play. They are the sweetest nieces and nephews.  I wish I took a picture of all of us sitting around at the dinner table, it was a festive time.  My hands were literally full, feeding Marcella on one hand and eating with the other.  (Thank you Lou & Betty for dinner!) We really enjoyed our weekend with the little ones.  We cherish every moment because in a blink of eye they will be grown-up.

P.S.
Jack took this picture of Bruno.  Great job!

Looking Back: 4th Annual Fall Fest

But I remember more dearly autumn afternoons in bottoms that lay intensely silent under old great trees.

I'm a bit behind on posting, please bear with me.  We had our 5th Annual Fall Fest last weekend.  It was a glorious day!  More to come... For now, here's a few pictures I hope you'll enjoy from last year's celebration.
