Fall Leaves

Every leaf speaks bliss to me,
fluttering from the autumn tree.
Emily Bronte

Our maple tree in all its splendor!
I'm loving today.  The wind blew and the first thick layer of leaves now cover the ground.  Although I have a cold in this unseasonably warm weather, I was anxious to rake the leaves.
There are times when I dread raking leaves, but when the weather is beautiful and the air stands still, this can be a wonderful activity.  Thankfully fall leaves no longer require bagging.  Instead they are gathered, collected, and composted as part of our city service.  Gotta love Green Living!

Our Wedding Album

In celebration of our 6th year wedding anniversary...
Your love, O God, has called us here,
for all love finds its source in you,
the perfect love that casts out fear,
the love that Christ makes ever new.
O gracious God, you consecrate
all that is lovely, good, and true.
Bless us who is in your presence wait,
our trust in your desires renew.
Your love will send us from this place;
reveal your will in all we do,
that every path of love we trace
may show the world its source in you.

Seychelles

Globe Trekker 7:00 p.m.
I'm writing as we're sitting on our couch watching a travel show featuring Seychelles.  I'm speechless.  This place is described as the Garden of Eden and is known as having the best beach in the world.  You must visit The Seychelles Islands website to read about this enchanting place and view more breathtaking pictures.

I dream about visiting this island in the Indian Ocean.  If only the Mr. will take me there someday...

Fall Preparation

We had gorgeous weather today, the sun shone! A perfect day to prepare the home indoors and out for the fall.  Indoors, I baked the 'jambon et fromage' quiche Christina taught me how to make.  (We dropped by to visit our neighboring friends and shared this dish.)  A few halloween decorations were unwrapped.

Outdoors, the terracotta lanters (pumpkin and ghosts) have taken their places on our front steps.  Herbs have been dug and planted in pots to be enjoyed inside.  It's best not to take chances, frost can come any day now.

In Style: Edward Cullen

Do you want to ride with me today? he asked, amused by my expression as he caught me by surprise yet again...  "Yes, thank you," I said, trying to keep my voice calm.  As I stepped into the warm car, I noticed his tan jacket was slung over the headrest of the passenger seat...  "I brought the jacket for you.  I didn't want you to get sick or something."  His voice was guarded.  I noticed that he wore no jacket himself, just a light gray knit V-neck shirt with long sleeves.  Again, the fabric clung to his perfectly muscled chest.  It was a colossal tribute to his face that it kept my eyes away from his body.
Twilight, Stephenie Meyer

For the Twilighter men out there--- that means Patrick, Billy, & Vince.  I thought you may enjoy these fashion finds inspired by Edward Cullen.   I stopped by at Banana Republic today and couldn't help but notice the men's clothing.  They looked a lot like something Edward would wear.  I'm not sure if the Twilight movie inspired BR's  fall collection or vise versa, but they sure came close to Edward Cullen's wardrobe.  Don't you think?

Beauty Abounds

There is nothing like staying at home
for real comfort.

So, this week was a hard one.  I didn't realize how mentally and physically exhausted I was until I settled in at home.  I'm yawning now.  Snug in my PJs, tonight I knitted and browsed through catalogs.  Lovely!  Just what I needed.

I love Anthropologie catalogs, it's absolutely beautiful. When I saw the photo above, I just had to share it here.  It exudes serenity and charm.  Picture perfect.  I am there--- There's nothing more comforting right now than getting cozy under the warmth of a plush blanket, beneath the roof of our little home.

Here's to a happy and relaxing weekend.
