Black Swan

How disappointed I was today to find out that this movie, which I have been anticipating for months, will not be opening here this weekend. Are they kidding me? Why would such a highly anticipated (already receiving high acclaim) be set for a limited release? Honestly, why?

Hearing this news today made me almost drive to the nearest city (Chicago) which will be showing this movie tomorrow. Okay, I know I'm being dramatic but I was not the only one who felt the same way. A few of us were excited for our weekend movie date. Thankfully, a friend at work (and fellow ballet dancer) found out that Black Swan will be showing in one theater, one week later, here in our state so we've made another date. Whew! I will just have to wait a little bit longer. I hope it's worth it.

Pointe

Since I posted about Black Swan, I was inspired to do this little post. My old pointe shoes. With my hula teacher having moved away quite a while back (I really miss Angie), I've returned to my first love. I'm just two semesters in the ballet theater class and it's literally like taking baby steps, but I'm hanging in there because I found that the classes are providing me the discipline and focus I seem to need lately. Not to mention feeling the pure enjoyment and seeing the beauty of this art... It will be a long while before I can think of pointe class, but I have to admit that it put a smile on my face to know that I can still get on my toes.

First Day of December

Remember the Halloween decorated branch earlier this fall? It's now dressed up for the winter. Although it's technically still fall, if you were here you would see and feel that winter weather has arrived early. We had our first snowfall today and it was pretty lovely see.

Snowflakes are kisses from heaven.

P.S.

By the way, Harry Potter PJ Party was a blast and the midnight movie was phenomenal! I was a zombie the day after but it was totally worth it. LOL! As for Thanksgiving, we had a lovely time with our family here and as always it was a joy to cook and host the celebration. Our traditional dinner time and menu was not so traditional this year. We opted to gather in the mid afternoon instead of the late evening and had roasted chicken instead of turkey. It was splendid! (I think we should do that again, don't you think Ate Jenn? : )

Harry Potter

A year ago around this time, I began reading the Harry Potter books. I read them one after another throughout winter. It was very fitting with the cold weather, the falling snow, and the magic that surrounded the season.

In celebration of these books and the Harry Potter movies, Lavender Hill is hosting a muggle pajama party today followed by the midnight opening show of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. We're super excited!

Cedric Diggory

I think some of you will get a laugh at this...
Cedric Diggory dies in Harry Potter

but lives forever in Twilight.
I'll be fashioning this with my pajamas today. LOL!

The Cupboard Under The Stairs

Harry Potter mania! We are having an all day muggle pajama party! Whoo hoo! (I have to admit, as fun as it was making these invitations, it was even more fun receiving everyone's owls too. : )

77 Pictures in October

A wonderful family time in autumn. It was truly a joy to have Mama Delia and Papa Fidel vacation in our home last month. They arrived during the perfect fall weather where the leaves have all turned yellow, red, and orange and the daylight had that golden glow. I was once again cooking up a storm, but sadly did not take any pictures of the food. Filipino fiesta was on our daily menu. We were blessed.
