Rochefort

Who is staring at the sea is already sailing a little.

We visited the sight of the 18th century ship that is being built in Rochefort.  The work began in 1997 and is scheduled to be completed 2011.  The ship will set sail for Boston.

The scenery this day looks very much like a setting in the moors of England.

The carpentry work was amazing to see.

There are thousands of people who entered the raffle for a chance to be a passenger on the ship's maiden voyage.

Location of Nicolas workplace just outside the Hermione location.  This is the corner facade, the building is much larger.

Perhaps we we'll see this ship when it docks in Boston.  That will be something...
